Several months ago, Walter decided to do some volunteer work.  He wanted to do something useful with the extra time that he now had on his hands.  He decided to apply to volunteer at the Newcomer Information Centre.

Following a very pleasant interview, he was eager to learn about what can be done for new immigrants to Canada and to work with people who provided support for newcomers. His interest in helping people improve their lives also sparked his enthusiasm.

Being a travel agent for about thirty years instilled his value in helping people accomplish their goals and dreams.  Walter was pleased to be accepted by the YMCA to do volunteer work in the Newcomer Information Centre.

From the very beginning, he appreciated the friendly and professional atmosphere and central location. He was impressed by the staff and volunteers who speak various languages and make immigrants feel comfortable in their adopted country. 

Walter continues to enjoy his YMCA experiences and hopes to make a contribution to the organization.  We know he already has.
