Claustine and Allison were Learning Opportunities Program participants for close to a year. Each of them wanted to start their own business but wanted to upgrade their literacy and basic skills.  Literacy and basic skills include reading, writing and mathematics.

After many months of hard work and dedication, Claustine and Allison decided that it would be a good idea if they combined their enthusiasm and start a restaurant.

Allison’s incredible cooking talent and Claustine’s wonderful people skills combined with the skills they gained at Learning Opportunities Program were the keys to success.

Together they have developed Fletch’s West Indian Restaurant located at 1040 St. Clair Avenue West.

They serve delicious lunches that included traditional meals from Grenada and the surrounding Caribbean islands in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Claustine and Allison demonstrate how the YMCA can help people succeed by offering opportunities for personal growth, community involvement, and leadership.
