Language Assessment And Instruction Helps Newcomers
Learning one of Canada's official languages is often a major challenge for newcomers. The YMCA of Greater Toronto can help. We've partnered with the Government of Canada to offer free language training to permanent residents. Our language classes are open to all adults in your family - both those looking for work, and those who are not.

The program is called Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada, and it is offered through our four YMCA Language Assessment and Referral Centre.

Through these Centres, we can:
  • Help assess your current English language skills
  • Help select the best training program for you
  • Refer you to full-time or part-time education
  • Help you find a school with childcare while you learn
  • Refer you to additional community resources in your area
