Planned giving and endowments are an ideal way to give a gift and leave a legacy that will continue to enhance the lives of people in your community for years to come.
There are many ways to help:
- Legacy: leave the YMCA of Greater Toronto in your will or living trust
- Endowment: make a gift for one of our current endowment funds:
YMCA Youth Foyer Sprott Endowment Fund
YMCA Legacy Endowment Fund
- Stocks and Securities: make a gift of securities or contribute a strip bond or shares of a mutual fund to the YMCA of Greater Toronto
(Note: To find out more about the opportunity for donors to realize significant tax savings when donating securities versus cash donation, please read the attached illustration.)
- Insurance policy or registered retirement fund: make the YMCA of Greater Toronto the beneficiary of your insurance policy or retirement fund
- Tributes: to give in honour or in memory of a loved one or friend
Before making a planned gift, it makes sense to consult with a legal or financial advisor to decide what type of gift will work best for you. Your advisor can help you understand the tax implications of planned giving and work with you to properly structure the gift to ensure it meets your goals.
