An Opportunity for Corporate Responsibility
Supercom President, Frank Luk didn’t hesitate when he received a call from Mayor Don Cousens asking him to support the Markham YMCA’s Capital Campaign. What Mayor Cousens didn’t know was that Frank possessed a depth of life experience with, and loyalty to, the YMCA. Frank attended YMCA college while growing up in Hong Kong and then came to Montreal as a student, quickly finding work at our Montreal YMCA with the aquatics program. He believes strongly in YMCA programs and contends that YMCA programs for children and youth are especially important. In his eyes, the YMCA “… helps to develop the future masters of the community.”

As President of Supercom Canada, Frank is often asked for corporate support by charitable organizations. He doesn’t mind; instead he chooses to see it as Supercom’s responsibility to help those in need. Mayor Cousens’ request of Frank and Supercom gave Frank an opportunity he had not yet had – to provide philanthropic leadership and give back to the YMCA. Frank’s faith is to see our YMCA remain strong. As far has he is concerned, that just makes it easy for him to answer our call for support
