Now, those plans had to be scrapped. The job openings that George found didn’t pay enough to support his family.  By the time George discovered YMCA Employment Services he was feeling very stressed.

George and his counselor looked at his options and decided he wouldn’t need to change fields or retrain. There were good companies looking for equipment maintenance workers with similar experience. The counselor helped George create a resume and prepared him for formal interviews.

Some of George’s stress revolved around the feeling that he had let his family down.  The YMCA provided George with a solution; a financially assisted family membership in a YMCA Health, Fitness & Recreation Centre would give them something new and fun to do together.

The kids love going to the YMCA. “Some good things have come out of this,” says George emphatically.
