Today, Kristine is an active Regional Council member and has become an energetic canvasser for the YMCA annual campaign. Kristine volunteers because she says, “It makes me feel good. It gives me emotional satisfaction. It’s a wonderful feeling.” What Kristine is most delighted with is her planned gift to our YMCA Endowment Fund – dismissing her volunteer contribution as a ‘mere’ community responsibility. Kristine likes the fact that her gift to the Endowment Fund will go on in perpetuity, continuing her efforts and ensuring our YMCA is there for others as it is for her now. When asked if our YMCA is what she dreamed it would be as a child, Kristine’s response is almost ecstatic as she says, “Oh yes. It is wonderland”.
