Creating Memories: YMCA Camp Pine Crest

Message from Camp Director

YMCA Camp Pine Crest - Andrea BalmerWelcome to Camp Pine Crest! 2008 has been a summer of rain, rain and more rain!! Campers don’t seem to notice that camp is wet and canoe trips and program have still gone on without a hitch. We are very excited to have full camp again this year for all of our programs including a very popular Family Camp.

Camp is starting to change face a bit with our new cabin renovations, outtripping building and girls washroom construction coming to a close. Check out the construction updates for more information.

I can hardly believe that summer is almost done and all the kids will be going back to school already. We are gearing up for the Pine Crest Games on August 26 and 27 to finish off our summer with a bang. Thanks to all those that have supported camp this year!

Andrea Balmer

News and Updates

  • Our Senior Adventure Leadership group has arrived back at camp safe and sound after their 30+ days paddling through the Northwest Territories and Nunavut on the Coppermine River. The group was experienced challenging whitewater, encountered a grizzly bear and saw many caribou on their exciting adventure. It was a very successful trip overall with the outstanding leadership of Leigh Coffey and Stephen Davis. We’re glad to have you back!

  • Camp Pine Crest is an attractive option for campers of all ages. Our Family Camp this year filled completely in the middle week of the summer. This has been a great time for families to enjoy camp, ease their children into the transition of overnight programs and to enjoy some time away together. We are now hosting a Family Camp Weekend on September 19 - 21, 2008 to address the popularity of this program. Register today!
