LECTURE 7: THE MAGIC PROFIT FORMULA - GROWING EMOTIONALLY

Emotions are wonderful things, they will keep you out of danger and they will lead you to success.  But, you need to use them.  In this session we learn how-to let your emotions become your guide to success.  This session is part of a certificate course with a class once a week. You must attend all the sessions to receive the Certificate.

FINANCIAL STATEMENTS – FROM A USER’S PERSPECTIVE

Participants will learn what investors and users of financial statements focus on when analyzing companies’ financial positions. Basic principles of financial statements, plus Canadian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and various financing structures available to small business owners will also be discussed.

CREATING A CASH FLOW FORECAST FOR A BUSINESS PLAN

This workshop will briefly discuss the technical aspects of a cash flow statement prepared under Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and the preparation of a cash flow forecast for a business plan. You will learn how to demonstrate to potential investors the cash requirements of your business and how to properly describe and support the assumptions used.

This session explains the intricacies of budgeting and is aimed at assisting the participants in preparing budget forecasts for their business plans. It is recommended that this session be attended as a prelude to the Cash flow Forecast on Jul 22.

LECTURE 9: THE MAGIC PROFIT FORMULA - MARKETING YOURSELF
A successful person must market themselves. By marketing, we mean making sure that the people critical to your success become aware of you.  There are numerous ways to make the world aware of how wonderful you are.  In this class we will cover some of the basic and not so basic ways of achieving this. Requirement as per Lecture 7.

SMALL BUSINESS INFORMATION SEMINAR

This workshop gives you a general overview concerning: a) Starting your own business (record keeping, fiscal periods, accounting methods, etc.); b) Income tax; c) Payroll withholding; d) Goods and Services Tax/ Harmonized Sales Tax; and e) Income & Expenses (i.e. Automobile expenses, At-home Office Expenses.)
