Steve Gamsby is not a man who does things half way. So, when he joined the Durham YMCA Health, Fitness & Recreation Centre, he didn’t join alone. He brought along his wife Lisa and their two sons. Using their membership as a chance to get fit while spending time together, the Gamsby family quickly become involved in individual conditioning and swimming programs.

But for Steve, that involvement was just the tip of the iceberg. Realizing he could help his local YMCA, Steve joined the Retro Dance Committee and the YMCA Advisory Council. He donated $5,000 to the YMCA annual YMCA Strong Kids campaign and got involved in campaign management. Today, Steve helps our YMCA by seeking corporate donations from the community. Best of all, as his family continues to stay fit, Steven continues to benefit from the joy of giving.
