After several months living alone in Canada, and unable to find a job, Sadaf was ready to give up. She had been searching for a job without any luck and did not know where to go next. An advisor at the YMCA Newcomer Information Centre saw she was having trouble, and referred her to a YMCA Employment Centre. In her own words, that experience “… really changed my life”.

Working with a YMCA counsellor, Sadaf learned about different ways she could approach the job search process. Using the information and support provided, that very afternoon she decided to set a new goal for her job search. As she said, “Thanks to you, I left that afternoon with a different attitude and hope, ready to begin a new stage in my life here.”

Sadaf’s new perspectives and ideas paid off very quickly, and within several weeks she found a job at a company she had always wanted to work for. Today, Sadaf remains very grateful for the help she received during her time of greatest need. “I will never have enough words to thank you for what you did for me,” Sadaf said. “Please keep up the good work because it really makes a difference.”
