This year marks Canada’s 140th birthday.
Sixteen years before Canada officially became a country, Montreal opened the first North American YMCA. Even in 1851 the YMCA was welcoming newcomers to Canada and helping them settle in their new home. The Toronto YMCA opened its doors two years later in 1853 and began serving our community.
We are proud to still be building strong kids, strong families and strong communities in Canada.

On Monday, July 2, 2007 all YMCA centres will be closed except our Health Fitness and Recreation Centres. Our Health, Fitness and Recreation Centres will be open 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and follow holiday program schedules.
