YMCA Sprott House Opens
A Step Toward Independence for YouthYMCA Sprott House Opening
YMCA Sprott House officially opened on Monday, September 17, 2007. Over 100 donors, staff, volunteers and supporters including City Councillor Adam Vaughan joined the celebration.

This unique democratic living environment provides supported housing to youth looking to transition to full independence. YMCA Sprott House is a comfortable, elegant Victorian-era heritage mansion, located in a safe and quiet neighbourhood in the heart of Downtown Toronto.

Juliana and Larisa Sprott of the Sprott Foundation along with Goldie Feldman were on hand to say a few words about their contribution to the project. Together with Scott Haldane, President and CEO of the YMCA of Greater Toronto, Sandy McIntyre, Chair of the Board of Directors, and Victoria Peace, Manager of Youth Outreach and Intervention and a resident cut the red ribbon to complete the opening of YMCA Sprott House.

The dedication and support of the donors, the community, the City, the federal government, partner agencies, YMCA staff and volunteers have enabled more youth across the Greater Toronto Area to have access to a brighter future, what better reason to have an open house celebration.
