The YMCA of Greater Toronto values the insights and contributions of the many diverse people and communities living in the GTA. In valuing diversity, we recognize as assets, people of different ages, classes, ethnicities, genders, images, abilities, opinion, races, religions and sexual orientations.
The YMCA will once again have a visible presence at Toronto Pride this year. On Monday, June 23, a YMCA contingent will join Toronto Mayor David Miller and City Councillor Kyle Rae at the raising of the rainbow flag and the reading of the official Pride Proclamation at Toronto City Hall.
On Saturday, June 28, and Sunday, June 29, the YMCA will once again host a booth at the Pride Community Fair. We will connect with the community by handing out information on our programs and services, as well as colourful buttons with our values imprinted on them. Pride revelers can also stop by our booth for sun block and after-sun care.
Please join us to celebrate diverse sexual orientations and wear your values proudly! The YMCA looks forward to many more Pride celebrations and wishes everyone a safe, healthy and happy Pride.
