Partnership Activities
All partnerships involve ongoing communication and sharing of resources.

2006: Ongoing project "Youth Exchange."  A staff member from Medellin will participate in a six-week exchange in Toronto with a focus on youth leadership.

2005-2008: Ongoing project "youth Co-existence and Peace Promoters."  1000 youth participate in citizenship and peace workshops and 120 youth work on social service projects.

2005: The YMCA of Greater Toronto hosted a delegate from the YMCA of Medellin prior to the YMCA International Conference held in Montreal

2004: The YMCA of Medellin hosted a partnership visit by a group of staff from the YMCA of Greater Toronto. The visit promoted the exchange of culture, ideas and information.

2000: A Counsellor from Youth Substance Abuse Program (YSAP) spent six weeks in Colombia exchanging information and resources on harm reduction as part of the International Youth Participation Program (IYPP)

2000: A staff member from the YMCA Employment and Community Services in Toronto visited Medellin for two weeks.

1999: A volunteer from Medellin spent six weeks working with the YMCA of Greater Toronto with a focus on youth and addictions.

1998: The YMCA of Greater Toronto hosted delegates from the YMCA of Medellin at the YMCA International Conference held in Toronto

1995: The YMCA of Medellin hosted a partnership visit by a group of staff from the YMCA of Greater Toronto.

International Programs are supported by the Government of Canada through the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).
