YMCA of Ghana

The YMCA of Greater Toronto partnered with the YMCA of Ghana in March 2006.

YMCA Ghana Programs & Services
The YMCA Ghana is the newest partnership established by the YMCA of Greater Toronto. The Association has the strong conviction that when young kids are offered ethical training at an early age they grow to become useful and productive citizens. The YMCA Ghana is committed to youth and women empowerment by giving the necessary skills for them to be self-sufficient. In order to meet the changing circumstances, the Association has now expanded its program scope to focus more on the educational campaign against HIV/AIDS.

Youth Empowerment Program: This program seeks to reduce the negative impact of HIV/AIDS and other STD’s, enhance the ability of youth to find gainful employment, resulting in better quality of life due to financial stability and increase YMCA staff and volunteers’ capacity to promote community development.

Other Programs: Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health Program, Daycare Centres for Pre-School Children, Environmental Conversation Program, Vocational Training Centres for Youth, Women Empowerment Program and Youth Transit Hostels.
