YMCA of Kingston Jamaica
The YMCA of Greater Toronto partnered with the YMCA of Kingston Jamaica in 1984.

YMCA of Kingston Jamaica Programs and Services
The YMCA of Kingston Jamaica works with hundreds of school dropouts, providing education and life-skills training as well as work experience and community exposure that allows the youth to develop self-esteem and see themselves as valuable citizens.

Key programs include: Vocational Youth Development (targeting street children and youth at risk), leadership development training, computer training, sports and recreation, camping, language and music program.

Partnership Activities
All partnerships involve on-going communication and sharing of resources.

2005: The YMCA of Greater Toronto hosted the National General Secretary from the Kingston Jamaica YMCA prior to the YMCA International Conference in Montreal

2001-2002: The Kingston YMCA hosted an intern to work with the Youth Development Program for four months.   

2000: The National General Secretary of the YMCA in Kingston Jamaica visited the West End YMCA to explore youth exchange opportunities.

1999: The YMCA of Kingston Jamaica hosted a Labatte Scholarship recipient from the West End YMCA who took part in an Aquatics Program knowledge exchange.

1998: The YMCA of Greater Toronto hosted the National General Secretary from the Kingston Jamaica YMCA at the YMCA International Conference

1995: The Kingston YMCA hosted a partnership visit by a group of volunteers and staff from the Central West region.

International Programs are supported by the Government of Canada through the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).
