The YMCA of Greater Toronto is part of YMCA Canada. YMCA Canada advocates on behalf of member associations regionally, nationally, and internationally. As a federation of 50 YMCAs and 10 YMCA-YWCAs across the country, YMCA Canada is focused on:

• Strengthening the capacity of Canadian YMCAs to help them reach out to more people
• Tracking trends and issues of interest to our member associations
• Investing in national strategies to improve our associations performance and effectiveness
• Piloting innovative projects that let our associations test new models or reach new groups
• Recognizing exemplary lifetime service and leadership to communities through the YMCA
• Building relationships with other national coalitions and networks to mount collaborative programs

YMCA Canada's organizational structure
YMCA Canada is governed by a national voluntary Board of Directors, which oversees national plans and priorities. YMCAs across the country nominate volunteer board members. YMCA Canada’s President and Chief Executive Officer is accountable to the Board for national operations.
