Deadlines for Application
You must apply to participate in a YMCA Youth Exchange Canada program. Please submit your application any time before these deadlines:
  • September 30 is the deadline for travel between January and June
  • March 1 is the deadline for travel between July and December
  • The YMCA accepts applications on a year-round basis. Group leaders are encouraged to apply as early as possible. Offers are reviewed and offers prior to deadlines may be given.
A few weeks after you apply, YMCA will let you know if your application has been accepted. If it is, we will send you:
  • A copy of the organizer’s handbook to help you organize your exchange
  • Information about the programming of activities, fundraising and budgeting, twinning of participants, etc.
  • Evaluation forms to complete after the exchange is over
  • A range of documents to complete about exchange participants. We’ll let you know the deadline for submitting your forms and fees. We’ll also confirm the exchange before we start making travel arrangements
