The Rexdale ProTech Media Centre, located in the heart of Jamestown, provides access to computer programs that introduce and develop skills in graphic design, Web site design, video editing, 3D animation and creative arts.

The centre's free training will help you to create your own music videos, animations, posters and more! All workshops are hosted by Industry professionals.

What is Hip Hop?
Learn about the history of Hip Hop and explore your ideas of Hip Hop Culture through New Media Arts. Use digital video and cameras, graphic/print design software, web page building tools and more and express “What is Hip Hop?” to you. This program is created for youth 16 years of age and older.

Portfolio Development
Are you ready to apply to a post-secondary Multimedia program? Our staff can help you upgrade your skills, prepare your portfolio and meet the requirements for school applications and employment opportunities. This program is created for youth 16 years of age and older.

New Media
Are you new to new media arts? You will gain an overview of the various forms of New Media including; print/graphic design, video shooting/editing, digital camera shooting/editing, website design, flash/flash animation, 3D Animation and more! This program is created for youth 16 years of age and older.

Microsoft Unlimited Potential Curriculum
Learn the basics of Microsoft Office applications. Our seasoned staff will help you gain the knowledge, experience and confidence to use this software in any environment. This program is created for youth 16 years of age and older.
(Every Thursday 5:30 to 6:45 p.m., Friday 3:30 - 4:45 p.m. and Saturday 1 - 3:30 p.m.)

Drop In Tutorials
Come in and explore your creative potential on your own. Staff will be available to answer your questions and help you along the way. This program is created for youth 16 years of age and older.

Youth Leader Corps
The YMCA Youth Leader Corps combines leadership training, teamwork, self-government, and volunteer placement to help build confidence – and connections.
(Every Saturday 1 to 3 p.m.)

Child Workshops
Programs for children between the ages of nine and 15 include Digital Photography, Web site design, Video Creation and Classical Arts Workshops.  Ask our staff for full details!
